NECK PAIN

Neck pain, or cervicalgia, can have many causes, including:
  • Poor posture
  • Sleeping in an awkward position
  • Muscle tension
  • Injury, such as a muscle 
  • Prolonged use of a computer
  • A slipped spinal disc
  • Disc degeneration
  •  Narrowing of the spinal canal
  • Muscle inflammation 
     
    To relieve neck pain, one can try:
    • Over-the-counter 
      such as aspirin, ibuprofen, naproxen, or acetaminophen
    • Applying heat or ice to the painful area
    • Using gentle heat, such as a 
      wrapped in a towel, or standing under a hot shower
    • Giving the back of the neck a gentle massage

    Seek immediate medical care ASAP or call 911 if neck pain is associated with : Severe Pain, Stiff Neck, Tingling, Numbness or weakness in arm, shoulder or hands.
